How long can a LinkedIn post be?

A LinkedIn post can be up to 3,000 characters. But only the first ~210 characters (about three lines) show on desktop before LinkedIn adds "…see more" — and on mobile it's closer to 140. That opening is your hook: if it doesn't earn the click, the rest of the post isn't read.

Tips for the first line

Keep it under 110 characters, be specific, and open a loop the post closes — a surprising number, a strong opinion, or a short moment from your own work. Leave a blank line after it so it stands on its own.
